SECTIONAL 9 - APPLICATION POST.

Before you fill in the text box below and apply, please read the guidelines below.

Guidelines for Applications:

1. Please ensure that you will be able to enter at least one challenge every two weeks. You do not have to participate in everything, but please participate in something! If you do not participate, you will be removed from the community. :) If you'd like to see what types of challenges we have, check out sectionals!
2. Please rank your choice of team (New Directions, Cheerios or Teachers) in your application. If you have no preference, you may leave this section blank. To help you rank your choices, our teams have put together public posts to introduce you to their teams. Check them out below to help you make your decision!

3. Please do not join the community before applying. When you are assigned to a team, a mod will invite you to gleeverse, our challenge community sectionals and your team community.
4. When applying, if you were referred by a current member, please try to give me their username. All members that refer members will receive bonus points. :)

Note: Teams must remain equal (or very close to equal) to have a fair chance of earning points. You may not always be assigned to your first choice team, but remember, it's not the name that counts! Look at those posts above - the teams are much more than the names they're given!

Hey guys! In preparation for Sectional 8, I've been sorting out the membership for all of the teams. Please check the spreadsheet below to make sure you are one it. If you are not on it, you did not vote to continue in the membership poll at your community, or you did not participate in the last 2 weeks.

If you'd like to continue, and are not on the list already, please leave me a comment here. If you do not reply you will be removed from all gleeverse communities by August 1.

GLEEVERSE RULES - REVISED

1. As per Live Journal policy, you must be at least 13 years of age to participate in gleeverse.

2. Respect is a mutual thing! Respect your team mates, as well as all other teams. Bashing and flaming will not be tolerated. (This include characters of Glee as well!) It is, all in good fun after all!

3. gleeverse and sectionals are closed communities that may only be posted in by mods. Any promotions, discussion and social activities are housed in the social community, slushie_war

4. You must participate in at least 1 challenge every 2 weeks. gleeverse has a variety of challenges in hopes that at least one will interest everyone. We are not asking you to participate in everything, nor do we want to pressure you into doing so, but we do ask that you participate in something.

5. Each challenge post contains guidelines for each challenge. It is important to make sure that you follow any specific instructions in those posts. Not following these guidelines will result in your points not counting for that challenge.

6. We are a spoiler-free zone. If you would like to discuss spoilers or use spoilers in your entries, please make sure they are warned accordingly.

7. Please keep your ratings PG-13 for activities that involve voting. For participation only challenges, feel free to use higher ratings as long as you warn accordingly.

slushie_war, vocaladrenaline, sectionals, and gleeverse have now been updated. I used the same layout for each - I think adds a sense of continuity and looks really good, actually; very fresh and inviting :o). ~~It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm super picky with layouts and it took me a few hours to find one that I actually like.~~

Anyway - just thought I'd point out that slushie_war has finally had it's makeover. I haven't touched that community in the 10 months (!!) I've been the mod here.

You'll find all the important gleeverse links in each of the sub communities as well. :) If something isn't working properly or you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

Our sign-up post is HERE! Join THE CHEERIOS, NEW DIRECTIONS or THE TEACHERS and compete in games and other contests for points! :D

Some of our current challenges are: Glee-themed WALLPAPERS, some CRYPTOGRAMS and creating GIFTS such as FANFIC or ICONS for other members! :D

With this sectional of gleeverse ending in ~2 weeks, we need to see who is still interested in participating next phase! :)

A poll will go up in each team community with mandatory to participation. It will ask if you're staying in the community, and you simply need to click "yes" or "no". If you click "yes" you will remain in gleeverse, if you vote no, you will be removed at the end of the sectional. There will also be an option to change teams if you wish to do so.

Also, if you do not answer this poll, you'll automatically be removed at the end of the sectional. You're welcome to re-apply at any time. :)

I will, of course, be posting reminders of the poll every couple days to remind you to vote if you're still interested.

Once again, this will be in your team community, so make sure you are a member!

WHAT IS gleeverse?
gleeverse is an interactive livejournal community based on the hit FOX show, Glee. You are assigned to a team and compete in challenges - graphics, games, fanfiction and more - for points. At the end of each "sectional" a winner is announced as we start all over again!

HOW DO I JOIN?
If you are interested in joining us here at gleeverse, make your way over to the audition post and fill in the form you find there. Please do not join the community. A mod will then sort you into a team. (New Directions, The Cheerios, or Teachers)

REMEMBER: In order for the community to remain fair to all teams, the numbers must remain as close to even as possible. If you are not sorted to your first choice team, please know that all the teams are are only names - the community is what you make it! :)

Also, since there are a limited number of spots on each team, participation is key! If you don't think you'll be able to participate in something please do not apply!

NOW THAT I'VE APPLIED, WHAT HAPPENS?
You'll be sorted into a team, and sent an invite to gleeverse, sectionals, and your team community. Once you approve these invites, feel free to jump right into participating.

HOW DO I ENTER THE CHALLENGES?
All challenges are posted at sectionals, our challenge community. When a challenge is posted, the specifics pertaining to it are posted along with it. To enter the challenge, simply comment to the post with your submission. Comments are usually screened, and the mod will have access to all entries.

WHAT ARE "TAG BANNERS"?
Tag banners are small graphics (300x150px) that display your team name and name/nickname. In gleeverse, 1 extra point is awarded to each member that uses a tag banner when submitting their entries. If you do not have a tag banner, feel free to make one for yourself or as a team member to make one for you. Each phase, a tag banner challenge is posted in the early stages of the sectional where others can make tag banners for you to use for the remainder of the sectional.

If your question is related to a particular challenge, there is always a comment thread labelled "QUESTIONS?" in each challenge where you can ask for any clarification you may need. If you have a general question, feel free to comment here and a mod will get back to you ASAP.

Some of our current challenges are: Glee-themed MACROS, a CROSSWORD PUZZLE and creating small graphics or TAG BANNERS for other members! We also have weekly LAST WORD challenges and many ICON challenges! Check it out! :D

Hello, Gleeks!

As alorarose already mentioned, chuckney and I will be taking over as co-mods for gleeverse! We're hoping to get back onto a regular schedule of posting challenges and working hard to drum up activity and new members for the community.

If you have any questions or suggestions, we kindly ask you to direct them here and we'll do our best to get back to you ASAP.

If you've already been accepted to the community but have failed to be invited to your team comm, or haven't joined our challenge community sectionals please make sure you join sectionals and bring any outstanding memberships issues up to the mods!

Also! If you're just watching the community and have no applied for a team, why wait?! Apply HERE and we will assign you to a team!

Lastly, any promotional posts for gleeverse are always appreciated as we could always use some more members! :D

gleeverse is a team challenge community inspired by many other "land" communities across Live Journal. We have three teams (Cheerios, New Directions and Teachers). After application, you will be assigned to a team and encouraged to participate in activities of all types, from graphics and writing to games and puzzles! These activites are a direct way to earn points for your team. At the end of each "sectional", the team with the highest amount of points will be declared winner! Participation is mandatory for a highly-interactive community such as this, so please, if you choose to apply, participation in at least one challenge a week is appreciated! (By the mods and your team mates!)

WHAT HAPPENS HERE?:
1. Graphics Challenges - These challenges provide members with an outlet for creative, digital art. Graphics challenges in gleeverse include icons, wallpapers and many more. All Glee-related, of course!
2. Writing Challenges - Pen to paper! Pure imagination is put to the test with writing challenges such as ficlets, drabbles and poetry!
3 Puzzles - Puzzles such a jigsaws, word-searches and crosswords are a fun and easy way to get involved!
4. Games - Perhaps the most popular challenges here at gleeverse, our games challenges include but are hardly limited to bingo, captions and "last word" challenges!

GENERAL COMMUNITY RULES:

4. curve and chuckney are your gleeverse mods. Any questions or comments may be directed to either of them at any time! :)
5. We reserve the right to remove any inactive members. Participation is important, and as there are a limited number of spaces on each team, activity is appreciated! If you're unable to participate in a challenge at least once a week, we want to fill that spot with someone who will. If you go on vacation, please let us know. If you need to take a hiatus for extended periods of time, please report that to the mods as well. There will be exceptions on a case by case basis. Please don't be afraid to talk to your team leaders and the mods.
6. Following the rules is important! If you are unclear on any instructions or rules at any time, feel free to comment for clarification!

POINTS
1. Each challenge posted at sectionals will, at minimum, assign points for simply participating.
2. Those who are lucky enough to "win" challenges (voting or otherwise) will be assign additional points.
3. Points are allocated after the challenge has completed. Seperate results posts will be accessible in sectionals after the deadline has passed.
4. After each sectional has completed, points will reset at 0 and teams will have a chance to compete once again.
